Is This What They Meant by “Mayhem Is Coming”?
There is still just over four months until Borderlands 3 comes out, but it is already a huge game. What we have been told is that there is at least 30 hours of story missions. If that is not enough, there is already Borderlands 3 DLC planned as well as a ton of things to do after you finish the game. Like that will happen anytime soon. Not much has really been revealed, but there will be four major pieces of DLC as well as raids. Lock and load, psychos.
In an interview with VG247, Borderlands 3 lead boss designer Matt Cox shared the news. “We’re going to be releasing more details about the endgame around E3,” Cox said. “Like any other Borderlands game, we will have four story-based DLCs. He also said that, “We’ll have special events as well as raids. The details on how that shakes out will be announced later, but there’s plenty of endgame.” While the content of these DLCs and events are undetermined, other details regarding the base game could shed some light on what they could be.
We know that Borderlands 3 will feature intergalactic travel, spanning multiple planets. Each of the DLC packs could potentially contain their own planet, each with different themes and/or biomes. As far as raids go, Gearbox could even have a planet set aside specifically for rotating raids. In previous Borderlands games, the raid bosses were part of the base game with their own set areas, but with interplanetary travel, the options are limitless. Borderlands 3 comes out on September 13th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
