The Next Assassin’s Creed Game Is Reportedly Set in the Era of Vikings

Yet Another Assassin’s Creed Game Not Set in Japan

A poster that was recently discovered in The Division 2 appeared to be an Assassin’s Creed Easter egg that seemed to hint that the next game in the series would be set during a time when Vikings sailed the seas. Then, a Kotaku report published on Friday “independently” confirmed that this was going to be the case.

Assassin's Creed

“A few months before this teaser emerged, Kotaku learned from two independent sources familiar with the game that 2020’s Assassin’s Creed, code-named Kingdom, does indeed star Vikings,” the report read.

Considering that Ubisoft has previously confirmed that a new Assassin’s Creed game wouldn’t come out in 2019, it makes sense for this upcoming game in the series to launch in 2020.

Currently, the features of this Viking game haven’t been publicly revealed but it is possible that the player being able to choose the gender of the protagonist is a feature. The game director of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey said last year that gender choice should be included in future games in the series.

It is also likely that this upcoming Assassin’s Creed game will be an action-RPG in a similar style to Origins and Odyssey.
