Hellblade’s Gripping Tale Will Be Releasing on the Nintendo Switch Pretty Soon
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will release on the Nintendo Switch next week on April 11th, Ninja Theory announced on Tuesday. The Switch port was announced just last month during a Nintendo Direct presentation.
Hellblade follows the emotional journey of a lone Celtic warrior named Senua who is trying to save the soul of her dead lover, Dillion. While she’s a capable warrior, Senua is also afflicted by a mental illness that causes her to hallucinate and almost constantly hear voices.
While Hellblade is a third-person hack & slash game, the aspect of the game that has garnered the most praise is Senua’s personal tale of love, hope, and suffering.
“[Hellblade has] a serious story that focuses on a realistic manifestation of mental disorder, psychosis,” the author of our 2017 PS4 review wrote. “It is an important step for gaming to take, as an interactive medium, if it wants to mature to the level of novels and film in terms of subject material.”
