The Elder Scrolls: Blades Is a Mobile RPG with Real-Time Combat
Free-to-play mobile RPG The Elder Scrolls: Blades has become available in Early Access for iOS and Android users, Bethesda announced on Wednesday.
Anyone who wants to be invited to try the game in early access has to sign-up first and Bethesda will be inviting players “on a rolling basis”, according to an official FAQ. Notably, invited players won’t have to sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to play.
Also, any progress and purchases made in the early access version of the game will carry over to the full version when it launches later this year.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades places players in the boots of a member of The Blades, an elite group of agents who work for the Septim Empire. However, when The Blades are exiled, the player returns to their hometown and finds it destroyed. It’ll be up to the player to rebuild their hometown by completing quests and exploring the world.
They’ll also be able to customize their character, fight other players in an arena (though that mode is planned to come out after launch), and test their mettle in the game’s “never-ending” Abyss dungeon (which steadily becomes more difficult as progress is made).
The Elder Scrolls: Blades is also planned to come out on the PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch sometime after its mobile launch.
