ID@Xbox Blog Finds a New Home
Microsoft has announced that the ID@Xbox blog has now moved to a new location, Xbox Wire.
Since its inception in 2014, the ID@Xbox blog has been a great tool for indie developers to get their game noticed. Over the years, itโs been successful in building a strong independent games community on Xbox. The new URL will be: https://news.xbox.com/en-us/idatxbox/
โDeveloper posts, interviews, and much more, will now be easily accessible and in the same place as all of your other official Xbox news!โ wrote Chris Charla, director at ID@Xbox, in a news announcement. โGiving creators and their games the spotlight has always been our main goal of the ID@Xbox blog, and now weโre going to be doing that on a whole new scale!โ
Charla also says that they will be republishing โsome of our classic contentโ including the โGetting to Know IDโ series and โother cool articles from our back catalog.โ The rest of the old site will be archived, with some old articles popping up now and again.
ID@Xbox is basically Microsoftโs answer for independent developers to self-publish their games on Xbox. Any independent game developer can join the program, received a dev kit, and immediately start making games. More importantly, theyโll have access to resources to hopefully make their games a success.
Developers that have signed up for the program include Bloober Team (Layers of Fear), Playdead (Inside), and Warhorse Studios (Kingdom Come: Deliverance).
