ID@Xbox Blog Moves to Xbox Wire

ID@Xbox Blog Finds a New Home

Microsoft has announced that the ID@Xbox blog has now moved to a new location, Xbox Wire.

Xbox

Since its inception in 2014, the ID@Xbox blog has been a great tool for indie developers to get their game noticed. Over the years, itโ€™s been successful in building a strong independent games community on Xbox. The new URL will be: https://news.xbox.com/en-us/idatxbox/

โ€œDeveloper posts, interviews, and much more, will now be easily accessible and in the same place as all of your other official Xbox news!โ€ wrote Chris Charla, director at ID@Xbox, in a news announcement.  โ€œGiving creators and their games the spotlight has always been our main goal of the ID@Xbox blog, and now weโ€™re going to be doing that on a whole new scale!โ€

Charla also says that they will be republishing โ€œsome of our classic contentโ€ including the โ€œGetting to Know IDโ€ series and โ€œother cool articles from our back catalog.โ€ The rest of the old site will be archived, with some old articles popping up now and again.

ID@Xbox is basically Microsoftโ€™s answer for independent developers to self-publish their games on Xbox. Any independent game developer can join the program, received a dev kit, and immediately start making games. More importantly, theyโ€™ll have access to resources to hopefully make their games a success.

Developers that have signed up for the program include Bloober Team (Layers of Fear), Playdead (Inside), and Warhorse Studios (Kingdom Come: Deliverance).
