Get Ready for Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition

Developer Gun Media will release Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition for the Nintendo Switch (obviously) this Spring, it has been announced.

Friday the 13th Game Sells friday the 13 the game Kickstarter Backers give devs hell

Reported by Variety, the new edition includes the base game plus all released content and paid DLC. That includes every Jason Kill Pack, both Counselor Clothing Packs, and the Emote Party Pack. It will not, however, include the Kickstarter backer exclusive Savini Jason character or clothing pack.

“We’re happy to be bringing ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ to the Nintendo Switch with the help of our partners at Black Tower and Nighthawk,” said Daniel Nixon, Gun Media’s Director of Communications. “The Nintendo Switch offers a unique experience, in both social settings and on the go, that we feel work very well with ‘Friday the 13th: The Game.’”

Friday the 13th: The Game was funded on Kickstarter and released in 2017 for consoles and PC. Lots of additional content was released for the game but a legal battle with the movie franchise’s screenwriter, Victor Miller, prevented Gun Media from putting out new content. Miller is looking to reclaim the rights to his original characters from the 1980 original movie.

“We can’t add any content, whatsoever. Nada. Not even a new tree or rock,” said Creative Director Wes Keltner in June 2018. “We can only focus on console-dedicated servers, bug fixes, and maintenance. I know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear and I wish the situation were different. But it’s the painful truth.”

Aside from this, it’s nice to know that Switch owners are getting the definitive version of this unique multiplayer game.
