The Sims 4 Has Amassed More Than $1 Billion in Lifetime Revenue

The Sims 4 Player Base Grew By Nearly 5 Million Unique Players in 2018

The Sims 4 has managed to surpass more than $1 billion in lifetime revenue, according to prepared remarks from a Tuesday EA conference call.

The Sims 4

โ€œOur Sims franchise continues to thrive in live services โ€“ our Sims 4 community grew by 4.8 million unique players last year, our monthly active players continue to grow year-over-year, and we just crossed $1 billion in lifetime revenue for the game,โ€ the prepared conference call statement for EA CEO Andrew Wilson read.

โ€œWe continue to have strong expectations for The Sims going forward, and in FY20 weโ€™re bringing at least 20 new content drops and expansion packs to our Sims games across PC, mobile and console,โ€ the statement continued.

The Sims 4 launched on the PC in 2014 and came out on the PS4 & Xbox One in 2017. It currently has six major expansion packs with the most recent release being titled โ€œThe Sims 4: Get Famousโ€. We reviewed Get Famous last November and gave it a score of 80 out of 100.

โ€œOverall, this expansion pack is solid and entertaining, and while $39.99 still seems like a high price to charge for DLC, it is pretty much worth it for any player who sees themselves using the fame system often,โ€ the reviewโ€™s author wrote.
