Kingdom Hearts 3 May Get DLC, Prepare to Wait

More Kingdom Hearts Coming Throughout 2019

It looks like Square Enix and Tetsuya Nomura aren’t quite done with Kingdom Hearts 3 yet, which is great, because fans sure as hell aren’t.

In a recent interview with Dengeki Online, Nomura talked about how in the past, titles would be “updated” through the Final Mix version of the game, but seeing as how updates are a natural part of the development and player process now, he and his team can upload new content directly to the game.

“Until now we release separate “Final Mix” package,” Nomura says, “but this time we want to add every additional content via DLC. As for free DLC, we will roll out whatever we finish first, but for paid DLC we want to combine a lot of things and release at once, so it will take time. But we want to finish working on the DLC by this year and team to move on to the next game.”

Great! Sounds like we’ll be getting just enough more of Sora and friends to tide us over until the next spinoff which is sure to have a math equation for a title. Nomura also mentioned that the series’ Critical Mode is currently in development and is set to make its way to the game soon.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One. You can check out our review of the game here, and be sure to let us know in the comments what you would like to see added to the game!
