Guess You Have to Go Solo for a While
After several years and multiple E3s, we’re finally near the launch of Crackdown 3. With no delays on the horizon, fans of the franchise might be excited to try their hand at some cloud-based destruction. Only, many might not be aware of the last caveat to multiplayer gameplay. According to Microsoft, the game’s Wrecking Zone mode will not be playable with friends.
In a strange twist, the software giant confirmed to GameSpot that players cannot invite friends to their games. Xbox Insiders discovered as much in the beta. The exact reason for this inconvenience has yet to be disclosed, so players will have to wait a little longer if they hope to form parties with friends. If there is a loophole to entering a game with friends, we won’t see it until after the game arrives.
“Players will soon be able to take full advantage of the Xbox platform’s Party features so they can experience the fully destructible environments in Crackdown 3 Wrecking Zone with friends,” a Microsoft spokesperson said. “We are always looking for ways to improve our fans’ experience, and party functionality will be enabled with an upcoming title update along with our soon to be announced post-launch content.”
Eventually, there will be a title update that enables friend invites. Expect it alongside news of post-launch content, whatever it may be. Crackdown 3 will arrive for Xbox One and Windows PC on February 15, 2019, and will be available through Game Pass.
