Praey for the Gods Getting Closer to Completion
Fully funded through Kickstarter back in 2016, Praey for the Gods is finally coming to Steam’s Early Access program later this week.
I say “finally” because I personally have been looking forward to this game since it’s reveal, as it looks an awful lot like one of my favorite games, Shadow of the Colossus, but set on a “desolate frozen island.” The developer embraces the Shadow of the Colossus comparisons, describing gameplay on it’s Kickstarter page as an ambitious combination of ” the game play of Shadow of the Colossus, Deus Ex, DayZ, and BloodBorne.”
It’s worth noting that the weird “a” in “Praey” not visible in a lot of the available promotional material was added after Bethesda and parent company ZeniMax media bullied the indie studio of three people behind the game, No Matter Studios, into changing it because they found it too similar to the title of their then-unreleased game Prey, a decision which has been widely considered as ill-informed and malicious at best.
Though it’s coming to Steam Early Access this Thursday, January 31st, the game will also be available for PS4 and Xbox One when it fully launches. Be sure to check out the trailer above and let us know if you’ll be checking it out in the comments!
