Mortal Kombat 11’s Scorpion Got a Makeover
Mortal Kombat 11 developer NetherRealm studios just released a full render of the game’s Scorpion’s character model, which is pretty different from what we’re used to. Although typically dressed head to toe in yellow, the new render adds some red to the outfit.

Mortal Kombat 11 was revealed early last month at The Game Awards. Since then, NetherRealm Studios has released in-game screenshots and a full render of Raiden. The studio plans to release the first gameplay footage on January 17 along with some story content.
Back in 2016, Ed Boon, co-creator of the Mortal Kombat series, talked about how he keeps things fresh after working on it for over 30 years.
“I’ve always been of the opinion that if we don’t change something dramatically with each iteration, that’s when people start feeling like they’ve already played the game,” he said. “As a huge fan of other fighting games, I’ve seen other fighting game series kind of dwindle down a bit just because they just put prettier graphics on an existing engine that has been around for 10, 15 years or something.”
“That’ll work for a while but after a while but people are just like, ‘Yeah, I can rent this one,'” he continued. “As long as we’re doing something new and adding something dramatically different, it’s still cool to me. At the same time, it’s always fun to do new stuff like Injustice and Injustice 2 where we’re able to kind of explore a different type of fighting mechanic and different types of characters, presentation, etc.”
