Play Zelda II and Blaster Master on Your Nintendo Switch on January 16th
Nintendo has kept good on their promise to continually grow the NES library of classic games for Nintendo Switch Online members. On January 16th, Nintendo will add two more: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link and Blaster Master.
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link was released in 1987 in Japan and 1988 in North America and Europe. It remains a controversial game in the cherished series due to its side-scrolling perspective and steep RPG elements. Many still enjoy it even to this day mainly because of how different it is compared to the original game. It’s been re-released a number of times over the years on GameCube, Game Boy Advance, and Virtual Console.
Blaster Master is a platform run-and-gun action game that came out in 1988 in North America and in 1991 in Europe. It features a boy named Jason who follows his pet frog Fred down a hole in the earth. There he joins up with tank named SOPHIA the 3rd to find his Frog while battling radioactive mutants.
The last time the NES app was updated was on December 12th when Nintendo added Ninja Gaiden, Wario’s Woods, and Adventures of Lolo. It looks like we can expect a steady stream of games to be added to the roster every month. If you have yet to sign up for a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, you can always activate a free seven-day trial before paying. You can find more details over on the official page.
