Rumor: Hacker Finds Whole Mess of SNES Games In Nintendo Switch Online Code

I Choose To Believe, Damn It

File this one under the rumor category, but boy oh boy do I want this to be real. A hacker and/or programmer has found a big list of SNES games buried in the code for the Nintendo Switch Online service. These weren’t always there, mind you. This is something that only popped up with the most recent update. The whole list follows below:

Nintendo Switch Online Service

-Super Mario Kart
-The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
-Demon’s Crest
-Yoshi’s Island
-Stunt Race FX
-Kirby’s Dream Course
-Pop’n Twinbee
-Star Fox
-Contra 3
-Kirby Super Star
-Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
-Kirby’s Dream Land 3
-Super Metroid
-Super Mario World
-Pilotwings
-F-ZERO
-Star Fox 2
-Super Punch-Out!!
-The Legend of the Mystical Ninja
-Super Mario All-Stars
-Breath of Fire 2

This is all courtesy of KapuccinoHeck, who posted a bunch of links on Twitter. All we’ve got to go on is the code they’ve posted, but that’s enough for a rumor, damnit. I know the odds of this being a real thing anytime soon are pretty slim, but I’m holding out hope. Nintendo has said repeatedly that this service is their replacement for Virtual Console. To that end, they should probably start putting more than NES games on their soon, right? Still no Chrono Trigger of course, but I’m getting used to that, somehow. Once again, just a rumor, one that I want to be real.
