A Game’s a Game, but a Box Could be Anything. It Could Even be a Game!
If you don’t know who Fanatical is, allow me to inform you. Fanatical is a distributor of digital games. They have a large library of officially licensed games from many of our favourite publishers including Rockstar, Sega, Bethesda, Bandai Namco, as well as many others. Fanatical sells these games often in bundles and includes standard, game of the year versions, and season passes. Many titles are launched in Steam. They also have crazy deal, but crazy is a double-edged sword. The Fanatical Deluxe Mystery Game is a random game that can be purchased for just $4 US/$5.29 CAN.
The first time the Fanatical Deluxe Mystery Game was available, it sold out in seven hours. The sale lasts just 11 more days, but if it was sold out before, who’s to say it won’t sell out again before the sale ends? The random game is not completely random, however. Customers are “guaranteed a top AAA or Indie game.”
The deal’s page has a short description of what customers can expect. “Build, conquer and rule your own kingdom. Learn to survive in a zombie-infested world. Explore a sprawling sky-bound city. Or shoot-and-loot to your heart’s content. All these experiences and more await you in the Deluxe Mystery Game.” Many customers on Reddit have been sharing the results of their mystery game purchase. Titles include Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite, Civilization VI, Dying Light, and SimCity 4, among so many others. Some users have reported receiving duplicate games, so the games that customers already purchased will not be tracked or influence what game they get from the deal.
