What Could Cuphead’s Developers Be Making Next?
Studio MDHR, the developers behind 2017’s Cuphead, has some “pretty epic” ideas for its next game, according to the studio’s producer & artist, Maja Moldenhauer.
“I’m just really loving what we do. And the ideas we have for the next game are pretty epic,” Moldenhauer said in a Red Bull video about Cuphead that was uploaded on Monday. Studio MDHR is also currently working on Cuphead’s 2019 DLC, The Delicious Last Course.
Notably, Moldenhauer said last June that this upcoming game could also have hand-drawn animation and may be part of a different game genre from Cuphead.
“We love 2D animation, we love hand-drawn animation and really crafting it in this kind of hand-drawn way. So, that’s not going away anytime soon, but the genre, the era, the gameplay… you know, that may change,” Moldenhauer told Gamereactor last year.
“Whether or not our next game is as difficult is a little bit up in the air right now. We might see something different and refreshing come out of Studio MHDR,” she also said.
