Keep the REmakes Coming, Capcom!
Capcom has made a statement regarding what would need to happen for a Resident Evil 3 remake to get made, but according to a couple recent leaks, it looks like they may already be hard at work on the project.
In a recent interview with Japanese website Gamewatch, RE2 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi claimed that the only reason the remake was made was due to extensive fan demand, and that the developer would need to see similar demand for a remake of Resident Evil 3. Well, 2 is beating the living shit out of charts across the world, and is currently beating RE7’s all-time peak on steam, so, check. But according to one ResetERA user’s sources, 3 is already in “full development,” with Capcom waiting to see how it and 2 perform before moving forward with any more REmakes.
But wait, there’s more!
Over on the Resident Evil Modding boards, someone has found a fully playable Chris Redfield in RE2’s files on PC. Of course, Chris only makes a cameo in RE3, so this may actually point more towards a REmake of the first game in the series. Either way, yes please!
Resident Evil 2 is now available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and after plowing through Leon’s story in one sitting yesterday I can personally confirm that the game is a banger front to back, and it sounds like our very own Michael Chow agrees. Check out some of the phenomenally stomach-turning gore you can make in it and let us know what you think in the comments!
