Is a New Splinter Cell Trailer on the Way?
Ubisoft has been leaking and teasing a Splinter Cell reveal over the last year, but we still haven’t seen anything from Sam Fisher. Now, it appears that we might finally get something at The Game Awards 2018.
The event’s founder, host, and producer Geoff Keighley released a new hype trailer for the show, which he claims is not meant to tease anything but instead celebrate how much the industry means to him. The trailer includes Marvel’s Spider-Man, God of War, Detroit: Become Human, and Red Dead Redemption 2, as well as upcoming games like The Last of Us Part II, Anthem, Death Stranding, Gears 5, Beyond Good and Evil 2, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Every year I really enjoy the creative process of personally editing a teaser/hype video for #TheGameAwards. Here’s what I put together this year. It’s not meant to tease, just celebrate how much this industry means to me. Hope you’ll join us Thursday as we walk between worlds. pic.twitter.com/BaQ9aQT1pR

Splinter Cell doesn’t really fit into a specific category like the other games. It’s also important to note that the Sam Fisher footage is from a teaser that Ubisoft released earlier this year from Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. But it’s still very possible that we’ll get something fresh at the show.
The Game Awards 2018 is set for December 6 at 5:30 PM PT/8:30 PM ET.
