December Is Resident Evil 2 Preview Month
This past month has been a montage of Resident Evil 2 footage, which makes sense since the release now lies on the horizon. Capcom decided to grow the December library with several new snippets of footage, showcasing weapons, effects, and Leon’s ineptitude.
Like with the original game, our protagonists will carry a unique set of weapons. Those weapons can be found throughout the murky, zombie-infested world. The new snippets provide brief showcases of each design and… combat. Just another look at the grenade launcher, the shotgun, and a tiny glimpse of the knife.
For the record, Leon didn’t do anything with that knife, so we lack evidence of how useful a serrated edge will be against monsters.
Before today, Capcom gave us new footage and screenshots of Ada Wong with her new and classic apparel. She will be a playable character, but the extent of her role remains a mystery. Keep in mind that, though Resident Evil 2 is a remake, the devs consider it a new game with new content. Therefore, many elements and story cues may vary drastically from the original property.
Today provides little more than glimpses of what’s to come in Resident Evil 2, Soon, we may see more through an upcoming demo. According to the Microsoft Store, the remake has a demo that’s scheduled to arrive before launch. The only caveat is the length of the demo – It will be very short.
“This specially tuned demo allows you to experience the newly reimagined Resident Evil 2, but be warned: whilst you can continue as many times as you like after dying, you’ll only have 30 MINUTES to complete the demo. Stay tuned for a release date on the demo. Resident Evil 2 is scheduled to arrive for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 25, 2019, and reports indicate that it will eat 21 GB of space.
