Infinity Ward, Developers of Call of Duty, Evacuated from Building
Infinity Ward, the Developers behind the Call of Duty franchise was targeted today as part of what appears to be a larger wave of bomb threats being set via email across the United States.
While unconfirmed if it’s the same email received by the team at Infinity Ward, Twitter user Lance King shared what he received – a statement of a threat and a demand for 20,000 dollars transferred in Bitcoin to the sender:
Well, that’s a new one. I just got a random bomb threat via email, demanding bitcoin payment. Since I’m at the coffee shop now, I suppose I’m safe. #ransomemail pic.twitter.com/MTj6X56mjm

A number of institutions including schools, businesses, government agencies and even private citizens have reported receiving this or a similar email. Police in several states are on high alert after being notified of this chain of emails.
Thankfully – the team at Infinity Ward was able to evacuate without any incident. No comment from Activision, their parent company, has been made at this time.
This is a developing story that we at COGConnected are following at this time and will continue to update.
