Capcom Responds to Street Fighter V Ad Complaints

Capcom Says They’ll Be Considering Player Feedback About Street Fighter V Ads in the Future

Adverts that could be seen on player characters were added as an option in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition last week and this resulted in a lot of backlash towards the game’s developer & publisher, Capcom. Many players criticized the new feature for ruining the aesthetic of the game and for being somewhat exploitative.

So on Sunday, Street Fighter executive producer Yoshi Ono responded in a statement that Capcom will consider player feedback and eventually “improve” the ad feature.

“We value and thank our community for providing feedback on the new Sponsored Content feature added to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition this week,” Ono’s statement read. “We will continue collecting everyone’s feedback to consider how we can improve this new feature for players in the future.”

Currently, players aren’t forced to display adverts on their fighters since the feature is completely optional. However, they’re incentivized to do so since turning on the adverts will award players with more Fight Money, which is an in-game currency that’s awarded after winning online matches and can be used to purchase stages, fighters, and more customization options.
