Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s Mac & Linux Versions Cancelled

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Is Planned for Launch on Other Platforms in 2019

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will no longer release on the Mac & Linux, according to a Thursday announcement made on its Kickstarter webpage. Backers who gave money for those two versions will have the choice of picking another platform to play the game on. Those backers will have to send an email request with the email address that’s associated with their Kickstarter pledge.

This isn’t the first time that a previously planned version of Bloodstained was cancelled. In August, it was announced that Bloodstained would be delayed to 2019 and that the PS Vita version of the game would be cancelled.

“Bloodstained will no longer be supported on Mac and Linux,” said Koji Igarashi, the lead developer of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. “We have made this tough decision due to challenges of supporting middleware and online feature support and making sure we deliver on the rest of the scope for the game.”

Igarashi also reaffirmed that Bloodstained will be coming out in 2019 and stated that its development “has reached its peak”. For fans anticipating this game, this is likely positive news.
