Assassin’s Creed just can’t stay in its own franchise, and it’s not a bad thing
The Assassin’s Creed series has some of the most recognizable symbols and motifs in gaming. The assassins are also the group that comes to mind when it comes to white hoods, second only to… you know what, nevermind. Let me try again. The Assassins are also the group of murderers that are most welcome in other games. Most recently, the Assassins and the Templars made an appearance in a For Honor event. Now we see costumes from AC turning up in a Monster Hunter: World crossover.
The Monster Hunter series is no stranger to crossovers either. In its most recent game Monster Hunter: World, there have been a bunch of familiar faces and creatures appearing since its launch. We have seen costumes from Devil May Cry, weapons from Horizon: Zero Dawn, and battled the mighty Behemoth from Final Fantasy, just to name a few. Dressing up as Assassin’s Creed: Origins’ Bayek or Assassin’s Creed II’s Ezio Auditore is something players can now do, too.
What do the Assassin’s bring to the hunt?
The crossover wasn’t exactly announced; leave it to the Assassins to make a stealthy entrance. To access the AC content, players will need to complete the quest “SDF: Silent, Deadly, and Fierce”, which sounds like to meanest fart of all time. According to an article on Kotaku, the quest is quite challenging. Players will have to defeat three of the game’s hardest monsters: the Odogoron, the Deviljho, and the Lunastra. When they are beaten, the players will be awarded a Senu Feather, Senu who is Bayek’s eagle. Repeating the quest will grant more feathers, which players can turn in to get the Assassin’s Creed content.
What do you think about the crossover? Have you been enjoying the foreign content in Monster Hunter: World? What other games would you like to see in it? Let us know in the comments below.
