Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Is Making Series History Already

Just a few days ago a new overview trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was revealed, detailing the game like never before and now Nintendo has announced that their latest upcoming title has set the record for the highest pre-sales in the history of the Super Smash Bros. series!

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Switch

Nintendo dropped a new video on Twitter about their highly anticipated title, sharing just a few of its accolades already. According to the publisher Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has already broken records with its pre-sale numbers becoming not only with the highest pre-sales in series history, but also becoming the best-selling game on the Nintendo Switch. With just how robust of a game they’ve made, boasting over 100 themed maps and 74 characters right from the get go, this announcement might not necessarily come as much of a surprise, but it’ll be interesting see what the first few days of sales will look like. You can check out Nintendo’s announcement below.

As it stands right now Super Smash Bros. Brawl managed sell 13.27 copies of their game, due in part of course to just how popular the Nintendo Wii was at the time, and while Nintendo hasn’t given an exact number as far as pre-order sales go, only time will tell if Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will blast it’s way past this series record. Additionally the best-selling game on Nintendo Switch to date is Super Mario Odyssey which has managed to sell 12.7 million copies so far. As this Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is already breaking records before its release, it will be interesting to see if it will manage to smash even more once it drops. Honestly, it’s probably pretty likely.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch in just under two weeks time, on December 7th. Will you be getting in on the action? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to keep it locked for updates!
