Spider-Man Appeases #Puddlegaters
Remember when a fan started #Puddlegate by accusing Insomniac Games of downgrading Spider-Man’s graphics because of the decrease in puddle size between the E3 2017 footage and the release version footage? So does Insomniac Games: they just added a new photo mode feature that lets you add as many puddles as you want.
The new Spider-Man update includes a New Game+ mode as well as an Ultimate difficulty setting. But fans are talking more about the addition of new stickers to the photo mode, which includes puddles.
We have a new patch today! Not only do we have NG+, but we added a bunch of stuff in Photo Mode, including:
stickers
frames
rotation for stickers
shortcut to Photo Mode with the D-Pad…

Players can choose between two different shapes and also alter their size and rotate them.

After the original drama, Insomniac’s Community Manager Jame’s Stevenson clarified that no graphical downgrade took place.
“The puddles being moved had nothing to do with performance,” he said. “Pretty sure it was a design/art usability reason thing. Definitely wasn’t performance, as we have spots with tons of puddles in the game with no performance issue.”
Look like Insomniac got the last laugh.
