Red Dead Redemption 2 App is a Free Download on iOS and Android
Planning on playing Red Dead Redemption 2 this Friday? That’s a silly question. Of course, you are! Before you boot it up though, you’re going to want to download the official app first.
Yep, Rockstar has announced an official Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App that delivers “real-time interactive information to your smart device.” It connects to your PS4 or Xbox One console as you play and includes an interactive map feature built-in. Players can “hide from the law, hunt your enemies, find the nearest General Store and other key locations” right from their phone or tablet. You’re able to pan and zoom the map, set waypoints and even mark points of interests. Any change you make on your smart device will instantly appear in-game. Because Red Dead 2 has a gigantic open-world, this sounds like a super handy thing to have close by.
The app has a few more tricks up its sleeve too. As you make your way through the story campaign, you can access Arthur Morgan’s in-game journal through the app instead which will display various entries and illustrations he’s made throughout his adventure. The app will also show Arthur’s core info and stats in real-time, allow you to remove the in-game HUD, provides stat tracking through Rockstar’s Social Club, have access to the game’s digital manual, and even a digital version of the game’s official guidebook from Piggyback.
The app is a free download on iOS and Android and will be available the same day the game launches on October 26th. Will you be using the app as you play? Leave a comment below.
