So Long as It Doesn’t Come and Go Quietly
Ever since E3 2018, Square Enix has dropped snippets of detail pertaining to The Quiet Man. It’s a new IP with a unique premise in that the protagonist, hence the player, can’t hear anything. The narrative thus pivots from the player’s interpretation of every scene. Today, we have a release date and some strange info for that narrative.
A new trailer dropped, a trailer full of live-action sequences and a fair bit of gameplay. As we learned from our hands-on time, The Quiet Man gets players involved through gameplay, but live-action segments carry the story forward. The latest footage illustrates the point pretty well – It’s four minutes of new plot points and characters we’ve never seen before. You may even think it’s a bit bizarre, but at the very least, it’s refreshing. Catch the new footage down below.
Everything you see provides our best clue on what The Quiet Man is about. Recently, the producer released an utterly cryptic letter that revealed next to nothing about the game. For one reason or another, the minds behind the IP are playing coy. Maybe, it’s because they believe the game is only the kind that can be experienced and not described. Cheesy statements aside, what are your thoughts on the footage?
The Quiet Man is set to release on November 1st, 2018 for PS4 and PC.
