Hitman 2 Announces Ghost Mode, a New 1-v-1 Competitive Multiplayer Mode

Assassinate Faster Than Your Rival in Hitman 2’s New Ghost Mode

Warner Bros and IO Interactive have announced that Hitman 2 will launch with an all-new 1-v-1 competitive multiplayer mode called Ghost Mode. See it in action in the new trailer below.

So what is Ghost Mode exactly? Essentially, two players can compete against one another online to see who is the first to assassinate the most targets in a match. Both players will play as Agent 47 and will begin each match side-by-side. They “must race to take out the same targets faster and cleaner than their opponent, while utilizing weapons, items, outfits and ghost crate supply drops along the way to help accomplish the overall mission.”

What’s interesting about Ghost Mode is that each player will be able to see a ghost version of their rival gamer in their game to track progress. Players exist in separate realities and the actions of one player will not disrupt the world of the other. The first player to kill five targets will be the victor.

While Ghost Mode has been confirmed to be available at launch, it will only selectable for the Miami location. It will gradually become available for other locations, as well as other World of Assassination locations, at a later time.

The wait for Hitman 2 isn’t that far away. It recently went gold which means a delay is less than likely. It will launch on November 13th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Unlike 2016’s Hitman reboot, it won’t be released episodically but rather as a complete game.
