Everyone’s Favorite Yakuza Daddies Are Here
The Yakuza team has revealed a couple of new trailers for the upcoming Yakuza Online during the Tokyo Game Show, and it looks like a ton of series regulars and the Dragon of Dojima himself will be along for the ride.
The first trailer seems to be more story related, opening with new series lead Kasuga Ichiban rumbling in the streets of Kamurocho with a handful of Omi Alliance thugs. One after another, series heroes Majima, Haruko, and Kiryu show up to help take them out (though it looks like Ichiban is picking a fight with Kiryu at the end of the trailer – I don’t know Japanese and there’s no subtitles, so I have no idea what is going on).
The second trailer mostly shows off gameplay, showing cutscenes, combat and conversations with Ichiban, as well as what seems to be a glimpse at the inclusion of some of the series’ quirky minigames.
Yakuza Online is set to launch in Japan sometime later this year for mobile and PC, and though there’s been no word of a western release yet, it’s hard to believe Sega wouldn’t be eager to set one up as the series’ is exploding in popularity thanks to the release of the downright phenomenal Yakuza 0 and the Kiwami remakes on PS4.
