Looks Like Devil May Cry V Will Have Co-Op Play &… Live Action Scenes?

Dishing out More Money May Get a Real Dante

As if there weren’t enough surprises from every drop of Devil May Cry V news and gameplay, the game may be more robust than we originally thought. Alongside an over-the-top, high-octane campaign, it looks like players will be able to experience the carnage alongside a buddy or two.

According to the official Devil May Cry V Deluxe Edition, the online component will facilitate 2-3 players. There are little to no details at this point, so we must presume there will be a co-op attachment to the campaign, if not a co-op campaign. The question is, how will Capcom implement this segment?

Back at E3 2018, director Hideaki Itsuno declared that the next mainline installment would be the best in the series. Judging by the trailers released thus far, the latest which just arrived from the Tokyo Game Show, the title is jam-packed with fan service and combat of the highest caliber. If co-op truly is a featured add-on for the campaign, then the experience is highly likely to overshadow past games.

We also learned about the Deluxe Edition’s bonus offerings, available below for your perusal:

  • Devil Breaker Weapons: Gerbera GP01, Pasta Breaker, Sweet Surrender, Mega Buster
  • Dante weapon: Cavaliere R
  • Battle Music – 3 tracks each from Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, Devil May Cry 3 and Devil May Cry 4
  • Alternative voices – Style Rank Announcers, Title Calls
  • Live Action Cut-Scenes

Curiously, the more expensive version of Devil May Cry V will have “Live Action Cut-Scenes”? I can’t imagine where those will fit into the campaign or how Capcom would pull that off, exactly. What’s more bizarre, however, is the idea that live-action scenes would incentivize more spending.  What are your thoughts?
