Day One, Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Be Playable in First-Person Mode

It’s the Wild West, Up Close and Personal

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now in the hands of select journalists, and while the much of the world can look on in envy, the rest of us are researching. One thing you might notice from gameplay previews, players can experience the wild west in the first-person mode.

Rockstar Games confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 is playable from start to finish using a first-person camera. Aside from the fact that many gamers prefer the convenience of such a perspective, the angle allows a better view of the stunning world. All the better since it will lack the shaky cam effect of Grand Theft Auto V. Plus, as every gameplay preview will attest, the developer has created a gorgeous game that lends itself to a landscape view.

For added convenience, players can easily switch from first to the third-person perspective. It seems this is true of auto-travel and while on horseback, both of which include a cinematic camera view of your surroundings. At this point, we simply need to await confirmation of a photo mode.

In related news, Rockstar Games announced the beta for Red Dead Online, the multiplayer component for Red Dead Redemption 2. The beta is slated for this November, with additional details expected soon. Simply remember to check back for updates as they arrive.

Happy gaming.
