Insomniac Expresses Their Excitement over Spider-Man Success
Yesterday the official sales numbers were announced for Spider-Man where it was revealed to have sold 3.3 million copies in the first three days! Now, Ryan Schneider from Insomniac Games says that Spider-Man could become their best selling title ever as he expressed just how proud he, and everyone else at the studio is of the fantastic Spidey title.
Ryan Schneider, Insomniac’s Chief Brand Officer, talked about the success with GameDaily stating, “Marvel’s Spider-Man could very likely become Insomniac’s best-selling game.” Considering just how many big franchises the studio has been responsible for over the past few decades, including Sypro The Dragon and Ratchet & Clank, this would be a pretty amazing achievement. Especially since the newest Ratchet & Clank for the PS4 was it’s most successful game to date before this new release.
Schneider also discussed how excited they are as a studio to have received such critical acclaim so far. “We’ve been ecstatic. We put so much work into creating an authentic, original Spider-Man experience. To see so many people respond so deeply to the game has been joyful and incredibly humbling for all of us here. Of course, we can’t get too hyped because we’re heavily focused on the City That Never Sleeps DLC content coming soon. So we’re continuing work, albeit with big smiles on our faces.” He continued, “Spider-Man is universally beloved and one of the world’s most recognizable characters. I think the game will continue to appeal to a broad range of players and, we think, makes the perfect holiday gift. Plus…that Amazing Red PS4 Pro is pretty awesome-looking.” Of course he is indeed referring to the new PS4 bundle that has been out of stock since it was released alongside Spider-Man on September 7th.
Do you think Spider-Man will keep selling like crazy worldwide, helping it become Insomniac’s best-selling game of all time? Are you enjoying the game so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to keep it locked for updates!
