Seven Main Characters… so Far

Hideo Kojima, the creator of the Metal Gear series, recently posted some character artwork for Death Stranding. The artwork came during the festivities of the Tokyo Game Show, where we received a better look at the man in the golden mask voiced by Troy Baker. He’s just one among seven characters that will play a big role. Let’s have a look.

Every character thus far, with the exception of one, has appeared in a Death Stranding trailer. In a series of tweets, Kojima revealed their roles and the actors. Actress Lindsay Wagner plays “The Bionic Woman” while Mads Mikkelsen’s character currently goes by “the mysterious soldier.” It may be that they have real names; however, Kojima keeps every secret for reason. Moving on, we see Léa Seydoux’s character from the E3 2018 trailer. The man alongside her, who cryptically goes by “the commander of the organization,” has yet to appear in any footage – He’s played by Tommie Earl Jenkins.

Then, of course, we have Sam Porter Bridges played by Norman Reedus, and “the golden masked man” played by Troy Baker. Last but not least, there’s the character who uses Guillermo Del Toro’s likeness. Del Toro himself won’t voice the character, as Kojima decided to employ a voice actor while the man directs.

With the exception of Norman Reedus’ character, no cast member has a name. The same may be true of the next reveals. According to Kojima, Death Stranding has more main characters. n his final post related to the cast of Death Stranding, Kojima said the following: “Main characters of DEATH STRANDING revealed at TGS last week. Yoji made this drawing for TGS based on the setting, the design, the gimmick, the outfit, and the casting as of today (minor change might be considered in future) BTW, there’s a few more main character will appear.”

Later, he might name the character and actress that Reedus carries in the TGS trailer. Stay tuned for updates as we discover more info, such as the game’s plot.

Happy gaming.
