Like the New Toys in the Battle Pass, Get It?
It was only a matter of time before Fortnite began making its way to other gaming formats, and where else to start but one of one of America’s most beloved and classic pastimes: guns.
Fortnite developer Epic Games has partnered with Hasbro to give Fortnite the Monopoly treatment (thanks Eurogamer!), and has announced that an officially licensed lineup of Nerf Blasters will be landing on store shelves sometime this coming Spring 2019.
Speaking with IGN, a Hasbro representative stated that the blasters “will immerse fans into the player-versus-player action of the game, letting them play out the Battle Royale in real-world settings with blasters and accessories that emulate the onscreen battles Fortnite is known for.”
In Fortnite Monopoly, players are challenged to be the last player standing in an expected Battle Royale twist on the classic board game, where each space is a location from the game’s iconic island map, and players can take actions such as shooting other players, using bandages to recover health, or building a wall.
Originally scheduled to drop this November, Fortnite Monopoly will be hitting store shelves this coming October 1st.
The Battle Royale phenomenon itself has started a new event across all platforms today called High Stakes, and Epic recently announced that those playing with a keyboard and mouse on PS4 will only be matched with PC players soon.
