Waylaid By Pirate Matters, Perhaps
The Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle, a collection of seven classic arcade brawlers, is set for release this Tuesday. While the PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions are on schedule, the PC version is getting pushed back. Word is this delay is happening so Capcom can install DRM on said PC version.
This isn’t the official reason of course, but fans are quick to get wise to these sorts of delays. It’s either that or some unforeseen issue with porting the collection to PC. The other possibility is that the online features being introduced in this collection are somehow posing problems on the PC.
The Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle has Final Fight, King of Dragons, Knights of the Round, Warriors of Fate, Battle Circuit, Captain Commando and Armored Warriors. Battle Circuit and Armored Warriors have never been released on a home console before, which is neat. There’s no word on whether these will be arcade perfect ports of these games or what, though my personal experience on this front has been mixed. Hopefully the PC release of this collection isn’t pushed back very far. And if it is, let’s hope the delay isn’t a DRM thing.
