Hordes of Fun Guys Do Battle on the Switch
It’s no secret that the Switch is host to a bevy of popular indie games, and today iOS App Store Game of the Year Mushroom Wars 2 is joining the hybrid-console’s stellar indie catalog.
The bite-sized RTS sports enormous battles with up to four thousand Mushroom troops across various single and multi-player modes, including a story-driven campaign complete with boss battles. In contrast to it’s predecessor, the sequel also includes hero characters with “unique skills” who can swing a fight in your favor. Mushroom Wars 2 also includes leagues, ranked matches, replay feature and a spectator mode in an effort to build up the game’s competitive scene.
Russian Developer Zillion Whales cites the Switch’s portability as a big incentive to bring the game to Nintendo’s latest console, and I’m sure the way it’s been selling like hotcakes hasn’t hurt either.
“When the Nintendo Switch launched, we knew it was the perfect platform for the Mushroom Wars universe,” says Andrey Korotkov, CEO of Zillion Whales. “The fact that battles in Mushroom Wars 2 are fast-paced means you can hop in and out of combat while waiting for a bus, a meeting, or even for the pizza delivery person (though, maybe skip the extra mushrooms this time) with the Switch’s portability!”
You can pick up Mushroom Wars 2 today on the Nintendo Switch eShop or from the eShop on the console itself.
