Microsoft Makes Another ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Game Backward Compatible
Microsoft announced on Tuesday that Assassin’s Creed: Liberation HD and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter were made playable on the Xbox One via the console’s backward compatibility feature.
With the addition of Liberation, every last-gen Assassin’s Creed game is now playable on the Xbox One through backward compatibility. From the first game to the final last-gen entry, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, fans will be able to experience the most of the games of the series without having to resort to plugging in their old consoles.
Set in 18th century New Orleans, Liberation focuses on a mixed race Assassin named Aveline de Grandpré doing the typical thing that Assassins do in this series: fighting their rivals, the Templars. One of the unique features of the game was being able to use three different outfits which each had special abilities. Players could adorn Aveline’s Assassin outfit or use two other outfits: a slave outfit and a “Lady” outfit.
Our review of the original PS Vita release spoke about the disguise system at length and gave the spin-off title a pretty decent score.
The game initially came out for the PS Vita in 2012 but a re-released HD version of it came out in 2014 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
