Square Enix Releases Mod Tools for Final Fantasy XV

Final Fantasy XV Mods Can Be Downloaded Through the Steam Workshop

It seems Square Enix have finally launched the previously promised modding tools for Final Fantasy XV, letting its player-base toy and tinker with new models, weapons, and costumes. It’s good that Square Enix have followed through with this promise, as Final Fantasy XV is a game that can only be improved by turning Ignis into Thomas the Tank Engine.

If you’re anything like me and get scared by all the big, modding words, like polygons, then the Final Fantasy XV Steam Workshop is going to be your saviour. There you can quickly, and simply, install the mod by clicking on the green ‘Subscribe‘ button.

Though the majority of the content on the workshop are mods that Square Enix have added themselves, the page is slowly filling up with some mods that replace Noctis’ weapons with swords from other games, like the Monado from Xenoblade, or the Kingdom Key Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts.

Square Enix have also released an official tutorial for the Final Fantasy XV modding tools, which talk you through the intricate steps of replacing Noctis’ player model with a monolith block:

Mods can entirely change a familiar game situation or play experience. Great mods can become a sensation, but even minor ones can enrich your gameplay experience. The mod function is a toolbox and what you do with it depends entirely on the creativity of the community, yourself included!

Mods supported by FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION include model mods, weapon mods, and costume mods. It is not difficult to create any of them, but depending on what goal you set for yourself, it may be quite challenging.

FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION MOD ORGANIZER converts assets you’ve created into mods and can upload them to the Steam Workshop.

There is a world of possibilities opening up!

Are there any mods you wish someone would add? Let us know!
