New Trailer Showcases Playable Character Heather
Overkill’s The Walking Dead has received a new cinematic trailer showing a day in the life of Heather, a survivor rounding out the team of four playable characters. Every one of the trailers has portrayed nothing less than a murky world filled with undead, but this one has to be the most brutal vignettes yet.
The new Walking Dead trailer offers a glimpse into the in-game world. Warning: the footage gets a bit graphic.
With four playable characters comes unique traits. According to the developer, Heather is “a hardened scout who rounds out your squad as the fourth playable hero. A kindergarten teacher in her old life, Heather has had to learn the hard way that the difference between right and wrong isn’t so clear in a world where humanity struggles to survive against the undead.”
E3 2018 is already going to be a jam-packed showcase, and Overkill’s The Walking Dead is going to have a big presence. Fingers crossed 505 games will broadcast some gameplay. If there’s is a big presentation, you can expect a focus on certain news stories here at COGconnected, alongside previews. Fans of The Walking Dead who will be attending the event can find demo sessions June 12-14th, at Booth 5200 in the convention center’s west hall.
For anyone unfamiliar with Overkill’s The Walking Dead, the description of the game is as follows:
“Inspired by the rich story universe of Robert Kirkman’s original graphic novels, OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four-player co-op multiplayer FPS action game set in Washington, D.C. as an outbreak brings the dead back to life. In this test of strategy and endurance, players will band together with up to three friends on a variety of missions and raids, securing supplies and survivors to strengthen their base camp against the threat of both the dead and the living – by any means necessary.
“Each playable character has their own skill trees, squad roles, play styles and background stories. Now they all share a common objective where survival and teamwork is paramount. The action is up-close and intense: take out enemies carefully with silent melee attack or go in guns blazing. You need to be able to improvise as nothing is certain and a horde of walkers is always right around the corner.”
Additional information on the project has been scarce. We know Overkill’s The Walking Dead will arrive for PC, the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but there’s currently no release date. Stay tuned for relevant updates.
