Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Will Be the Most Fun Game in the Series to Date
In a recent interview with GamesBeat, the game director for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Scott Phillips bragged about the upcoming chapter in the hugely popular franchise. According to Ubisoft Quebec this latest title in the series will be the deepest and most fun experience yet.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the same studio behind Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. This latest installment in the long standing franchise is set in Ancient Greece and will take place before Assassin’s Creed Origins with a even bigger map than its predecessor. Here’s what Phillips had to say, “In the core, the second to second, I think we have the finest tune and the best, the most fun version of what Assassin’s Creed can be on the gamepad. And then I think at the more meta level, what we allow you to do with choices, with options, with role play, with romance—I’m super excited for players to get their hands on that. I think it brings Assassin’s Creed to a whole new level of interactivity, of choice, of dynamism, of making history your playground. It’s not just a place where you see a cinematic with Socrates. You ask him questions, dig into his philosophy. Why does he think that way? You can make this world your own and dig into it deeply. I don’t think we’ve had that depth in the past.”
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is set to release on October 5th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC where players will be able to play as either Alexios or Kassandra during the time of the Peloponnesian War through the eyes of Sparta. And if you’re wondering if you should be interested in the upcoming AC game, it seems that Phillips isn’t just boasting about the quality of the game, as our preview confirms it. “This is an Assassin’s Creed installment that’s taking a new direction in ways that haven’t been done previously in the franchise. And frankly, experiencing just the cusp of what there is to take hold of has been a thrilling experience.”
