Sony’s Exclusive Superhero Is in Town for E3
For the past couple of years, Sony has touched the broad skyline of LA with beautiful pieces of temporary art. The company demonstrates great showmanship when it comes to E3, and they seem to enjoy letting the world know what’s on their agenda. Right now, the entire city can witness Spider-Man in the making, so to speak.
If you casually walk down the streets of LA, you may note a gigantic web-slinger on the side of a building. In previous years, Sony has decorated the same building with huge posters. In 2016, it was Horizon: Zero Dawn; in 2017, it was God of War. This time around, the building is representing Marvel’s Spider-Man, which is slated for release later this year. If there’s a better way to get the folk of LA excited for the big expo, we have yet to see it.
Spider-Man is just one in a list of PS4 exclusives announced for Sony’s E3 2018 press briefing. Accompanying titles include The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, and Death Stranding. Of course, we have every reason to believe the company’s showcase is not limited to these games. So far as we know, the aforementioned exclusives will be pillars of the event, during which we shall see gameplay.
As for why Sony selected Marvel’s Spider-Man for the side of a building this year, it’s Spider-Man. Since the entire world recognizes the superhero, it makes marketing sense to remind people that they can only find him on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. Furthermore, out of Sony’s Stellar lineup, it’s the only exclusive we know is coming next. Find it for PS4 on September 7, 2018.
