The Leaked Overwatch Trailer Shows Us a New Legendary Skin for Junkrat

Though it comes as no surprise that the yearly Overwatch Anniversary Event is happening again this year, what is kept a mystery every year are the skins, and it seems that a the Brazilian Overwatch Twitter account seems to have leaked the new Overwatch Anniversary trailer ahead of time, showing a May 22nd release date.

The Overwatch Anniversary has been a yearly event since 2017, after Overwatch celebrated the one year anniversary of its launch back in 2016. The 2017 event gave us a load of new skins, sprays, and emotes, and it looks like this year isn’t going to be any different.

The video gives a brief look at the upcoming event, and a new legendary skin for Junkrat, quickly dubbed by fans as Captain Junk Sparrow. It dresses up Junkrat in dreadlocks and a bandanna, a ship’s wheel in place of his RIP-tire, and a nice costume for his prosthetic leg.

This pirate-themed skin pairs up nicely with Junkrat’s partner-in-crime, Roadhog. For a look at the quick, sneak peek of the upcoming event, check the Overwatch Anniversary video below!

As is tradition with these events, it seems that fans will also be able to unlock a bunch of the game’s previous skins that were previously unavailable for purchase. The trailer shows different skins from the previous events such as the Halloween Terror, Winter Wonderland, and Lunar New Year.

A translation of the trailer reads “Items and Brawls from past seasons are back.” which some fans are hoping also involves bringing back their beloved Lucio Ball. No doubt Blizzard will unveil the full details with their official announcement.

With the leaked launch date being May 22nd, we can expect in announcement from Blizzard within the next week or so.
