Microsoft is Bringing Halo to the Arcades With Halo: Fireteam Raven

Halo: Fireteam Raven Playable at Dave & Busters This Summer

Before you get too excited, yes, Microsoft has announced a new Halo game but it’s not exactly the one you were expecting. Announced during its third Inside Xbox broadcast stream, Microsoft and 343 Industries revealed Halo: Fireteam Raven, a new four-player co-op arcade game that is being made exclusively for Dave & Busters stores.

Microsoft and 343 Industries are teaming up with Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix on the arcade game where it will make its debut this Summer. Make sure you check out the trailer above.

“We couldn’t be happier to announce this project and have had an absolute blast working with Eugene Jarvis – one of my personal heroes and inspirations – and the wonderful team of talented designers and creators at Raw Thrills,” said Kiki Wolfkill, Head of Halo Transmedia at 343 Industries. “Arcade games are a wholly different challenge compared to console and PC gaming, and we’ve learned a tremendous amount as we worked with Raw Thrills to make this happen.”

Halo: Fireteam Raven takes place during the events of the first Halo game. Players will take control of ODST soldiers on Alpha Halo, blasting their way through the series’ classic enemies, the Covenant and The Flood. Before you ask, yes, Master Chief is in the game but only as an ally.

As for the actual arcade rig, the cabinet is a gigantic 11-foot-cubed machine that features a 130-inch 4K display. Players will man attached turret guns to shoot at enemy threats such as Hunters, Scarabs, and Banshees.

A scannable QR code will allow players to connect their experience to their Halo Waypoint profile and compete with others for the highest score.

Fireteam Raven will hit Dave & Busters stores in the US and Canada first before making its way to other locations in the Fall.
