Detroit: Become Human Tops UK Sales After Debut Week

Quantic Dreamโ€™s Latest Game Has Been Selling Well So Far

Detroit: Become Human, a narrative-driven adventure game about three androids in a futuristic Detroit, topped the UK sales chart after its debut last week.

Our review of Quantic Dreamโ€™s latest game was mostly positive but still took some issues with how the game handled some of its themes.

โ€œQuantic Dream excels in bringing the entire world of Detroit: Become Human to life,โ€ our reviewer wrote. โ€œThatโ€™s not to say it doesnโ€™t have some hiccups along the way, some of which will leave you questioning the decisions of the developers. It would have been nice to see a bit more depth on display for the mature themes of the game, however, whatโ€™s even more important is how the story remains fairly consistent throughout.โ€

Another recently released game also seems to be having pretty solid post-debut sales: State of Decay 2, an open-world zombie game, took the second spot on the sales chart.

Unfortunately, we didnโ€™t like it nearly as much as Detroit: Become Human. Our review described it as โ€œunbelievably jankyโ€ and criticized it for being pretty buggy.

โ€œThe point is this: although thereโ€™s a very competent core loop and entertaining resource management sim somewhere within State of Decay 2, itโ€™s really, really, broken,โ€ our reviewer concluded.  โ€œUnacceptably so. It frustrated me mightily to see a flash of a game I wanted to play, only to be immediately reminded that itโ€™s not ready for release.โ€

Hereโ€™s the entire top 10 for this weekโ€™s sales chart:

  1. Detroit: Become Human
  2. State of Decay 2
  3. Dark Souls Remastered
  4. FIFA 18
  5. God of War
  6. Far Cry 5
  7. Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition
