Spyro Reignited Trilogy Officially Announced

Check Out the New Trailer for the Spyro Remake!

The current gen remake of the PS1 Spyro trilogy, titled “Spyro Reignited Trilogy“, has been officially announced with a new trailer that was posted on Thursday. Check it out below!

In the trailer, we see Spyro battling enemies from the first game, Spyro the Dragon. One of the enemies shown is the humorous first world boss, Toasty. We also catch a glimpse of everybody’s favorite dragon egg thief!

Screenshots, boxart and even the release date of the remake were leaked earlier this morning. The remake will feature all three PS1 Spyro games with current gen graphics and improved controls. Even though the end of the trailer simply gives the game a September release date, the leaked release date was September 21st.

The Spyro remake has been rumored ever since the release of the successful Crash Bandicoot remake that came out last summer, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Fans speculated that since the Crash remake was such an immense success then a Spyro remake could’ve been in the works.

In February, there was a report that claimed that the Spyro remake would be coming this year.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be developed by Toys for Bob, a developer that is also currently porting the Crash trilogy remake to other platforms. The PC, Switch and Xbox One versions of the Crash remake will come out on July 10th.

The Spyro remake is confirmed to be coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this September.
