Ubisoft Is Tired of Your Sh@! & Is Cracking Down on Rainbow Six Toxicity

Toxic Players,  Beware Ubisoft

Ubisoft is getting on board the punishment train with this latest news. Currently, the devs are taking measures to disrupt the endless flow of toxicity players face in Rainbow Six: SIEGE. Though hateful rhetoric is a common occurrence of player, the company just won’t stand it anymore.

A new blog post on the French company’s website details the steps that will be taken in order to ensure quality behavior from their online community. For starters, any users who use hateful speech or racial slurs will face bans depending on severity and consistency. Bans apply to the following: “Any language or content deemed illegal, dangerous, threatening, abusive, obscene, vulgar, defamatory, hateful, racist, sexist, ethically offensive or constituting harassment is forbidden.”

Bans from Rainbow Six: SIEGE may last 2 days, 5 days, 7 days, 15 days, or may even be permanent. What is more, truly despicable behavior can lead to a permanent ban without warning. Additionally, Ubisoft will weed out the potty-mouths in text chat – A filter will be applied that censors heinous speech. Devs will even be able to track the number of times a player triggers this filter. If you’re having a negative impact on your peers, then you are likely to be banned.

Last but not least, if you’re a bitter jackass that resorts to killing your own teammates, Ubisoft is working on more ways to spot you.

“Intentional team killing is an issue in Rainbow Six, and our current method of addressing it is being improved,” the post stated. “The goal is to track long term offenders across multiple games and sessions that slip through the cracks of our current team kill detection system. We cannot provide too many details on this, as it will lead to exploiting.”

Tackling toxicity in their online games is a part of Ubisoft’s works in progress. Right now, you can provide additional feedback to them via their official subreddit.
