Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Finally Conjures Up a Release Date

Accio Release Date!

Harry Potter lovers can finally embark on their own Hogwarts journey on April 25th when Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery finally launches on iOS and Android, announced Jam City today.

Jam City has also revealed today that actors from the Harry Potter films will provide their voice for the game. The full list includes Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall), Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore), Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Sally Montemore (Madam Irma Pince), Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey), and Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch). If you’re wondering why Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, or Emma Watson — who played Harry, Ron, and Hermione respectively — are absent from the list, it is because Hogwarts Mystery is actually set before the events of the first movie/book.

“Our goal with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is to make players really feel for the first time like they’re attending Hogwarts,” said Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City. “By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience.”

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is a mobile action-RPG set in J.K. Rowling’s magical world. Players will be able to create their own avatar, get sorted into Hogwarts, attend classes, and learn spells — all while making friendships and rivalries with fellow students. As previously reported, the game will feature a new encounter system where player choices and actions will impact various quests.

You can learn more about the game at its official website.
