The Acclaimed Firewatch is Coming to Nintendo Switch

Get Ready to Relive Firewatch in the Palms of Your Hands

Campo Santo’s award-winning indie adventure, Firewatch, will blaze a trail onto Nintendo Switch this Spring.

Campo Santo made the announcement today on its website where a lovely photo of the game being played on Nintendo’s hybrid console (yellow Joy-Con FTW!) can be seen. Imagine: The sounds of a babbling brook, a cool mountain breeze blowing through the timber. And in your hands, your trusty Nintendo Switch,” teased the developer. Oh yes, we can imagine.

There doesn’t appear to be any more details about the Switch port other than its vague Spring release window. It may also be safe to assume that we’re looking at a port that will be identical to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions.

We absolutely adored Firewatch when it originally launched in 2016. Here’s a snippet of what we said in our review:

“Firewatch is a curious experience and one that has continued to shift my perception of what a game is. In this case, it’s walking through a stunning forest while chatting frankly with a character you’ve never really met. And that was more than enough for me to feel fulfilled. Go on; spend an afternoon with Firewatch. It has a few unsightly spots, but it’s still a tremendous and thought-provoking experience for anyone who loves a good adventure.”

Campo Santo is currently working on their next game, In the Valley of Gods, which was announced during the VGA’s. It will launch at some point in 2019.

In the meantime, tell us what you think about Firewatch coming to the Nintendo Switch.
