A New Weapon, New Grenade, and Plenty of Tweaks
After temporary overnight downtime, Fortnite’s 3.6 update is now live. One of the first things that jumps out in the update is a new type of grenade called the Clinger, which sticks your environments and enemies, exploding a short-time later. The item is available in both Battle Royale and Save the World as an uncommon discoverable in Floor Loot, Supply Llamas, Supply Drops, and Treasure Chests.
Another notable addition is a new weapon called the Noble Launcher in Save the World. The weapon is chargeable, with damage increasing the more its charged. However, it will only become available today (April 25) at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET (1 AM BST / 10 AM AET on April 26).
On top of these two new weapon additions, some other tweaks were made—short fences will no longer prevent you from building structures, supply drops fall twice as fast and spawn from twice the height, and various weapon tweaks aim to provide more balance.
A recent Tweet suggests that the update will be “sticking its landing,” which could refer to the impending meteor crash that players are predicting.
v3.6 will be sticking its landing on April 24, with downtime beginning 4am ET (0800 GMT).

The meteor has been hanging in the sky of the game for over a month and appears to be approaching slowly. During this time, there’s been more than one false alarm, which means Epic Games could just be toying with players.
One popular theory is that the meteor will finally hit at the conclusion of Battle Pass Season 3, leaving destruction in its wake. The end of the pass is coming next week on April 30th, so we’ll know soon enough.
