Rake up XP and Fight the Biggest Battles in Fortnite
Despite a relatively short lifespan for the game mode, Fortnite Battle Royale has come a long way in enhancing its features. This weekend, players can witness the pinnacle of its PvP theatrics with the return of 50v50.
More and more players are hopping into Battle Royale and out of the party bus, thanks to double XP weekend. From April 19-22, players will have the opportunity to participate in the revamped 50v50 battle royale while accumulating extra XP. Special rules are now in place to accommodate the large groups of players going head to head. Revealed in a press release, Epic Games has set the stage for two party buses that will enter on opposite ends of the map:
“On the map, the friendly bus has a blue outline, and the enemy has red. The final storm circle is visible on the mini-map from the start and players are given 10 minutes to loot the map as the storm closes in on the circle, then five minutes to fight, and another five minutes as the storm shrinks to the end.
“Supply drops come in batches of 3-6, fall every two minutes, and only land in the final storm circle. A dotted line has been added to the map to indicate “battle lines” between the two teams. While players can cross the line, this will make running into enemies more likely! Other tweaks have been made, including increases to resource gathering, item spawns, ammo, and more.”
Looks like Epic Games removed Fortnite Battle Royale’s guided missile launcher just in time for the event. Players no longer have to worry about combusting from a homing explosive, which many agreed made the game unfair. An Epic Spokesperson explained its removal on Reddit:
“We’ve gotten a lot of feedback around the Guided Missile, in particular concerns over fairness and strength of the weapon. We share your concerns, so we’ve put the Guided Missile into the vault while we figure out the next steps for its future.”
Instead, players can opt for the recently introduced light machinegun weapon type. Look forward to all that and more loot in Fortnite Battle Royale this weekend. And stay tuned for additional updates from Epic – The developer brings something new and major every month.
Happy gaming.
