The Acclaimed Firewatch is Coming to Nintendo Switch

Get Ready to Relive Firewatch in the Palms of Your Hands

Campo Santoโ€™s award-winning indie adventure, Firewatch, will blaze a trail onto Nintendo Switch this Spring.

Firewatch Nintendo Switch

Campo Santo made the announcement today on its website where a lovely photo of the game being played on Nintendoโ€™s hybrid console (yellow Joy-Con FTW!) can be seen. โ€œImagine: The sounds of a babbling brook, a cool mountain breeze blowing through the timber. And in your hands, your trusty Nintendo Switch,โ€ teased the developer. Oh yes, we can imagine.

There doesnโ€™t appear to be any more details about the Switch port other than its vague Spring release window. It may also be safe to assume that weโ€™re looking at a port that will be identical to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions.

We absolutely adored Firewatch when it originally launched in 2016. Hereโ€™s a snippet of what we said in our review:

โ€œFirewatch is a curious experience and one that has continued to shift my perception of what a game is. In this case, itโ€™s walking through a stunning forest while chatting frankly with a character youโ€™ve never really met. And that was more than enough for me to feel fulfilled. Go on; spend an afternoon with Firewatch. It has a few unsightly spots, but itโ€™s still a tremendous and thought-provoking experience for anyone who loves a good adventure.โ€

Campo Santo is currently working on their next game, In the Valley of Gods, which was announced during the VGAโ€™s. It will launch at some point in 2019.

In the meantime, tell us what you think about Firewatch coming to the Nintendo Switch.
